I’m a senior yoga teacher teaching private, corporate and group yoga classes weekly. I also teach pregnancy and postnatal yoga and am an experienced hypnobirthing teacher based in Bow (East London).
I’ve lived in East London since 2014 but I grew up somewhere completely different, under the beautiful big skies and in the wide expanses of Montana. (My favourite place in the world, above right). Lured by sunshine and palm trees, I left Montana and received my BSc in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego. Yoga became an important part of my life during school and I began teaching as I decided on graduate programs. Fast forward a few life-changing years and I found myself teaching in London and starting a family. I felt compelled to train as a hypnobirthing instructor after having to work much harder for the birth I wanted with my second child. I received my KGHypnobirthing DipHB with Katharine Graves and Kemi Johnson in 2019 when said second child was 4 months old (I felt that passionately about it!) and have been been running group and private antenatal courses in Tower Hamlets and Hackney since.
The majority of my week is spent teaching yoga classes to the general population, though I have come to specialise in pre- and postnatal yoga and hypnobirthing. Our biggest passions stem from the experiences we have, and as a mother of two I find this work so important. I’m very grateful to have a career that allows me the flexibility of being with my family, but as I reach another transition point in my life, I find myself wanting to add another string to my bow (all of them complimentary!). I’m most content when everyone is doing well and I find joy in helping others. My work has always been centred on this and I’m grateful to share knowledge and practices that allow people to re-connect with themselves and feel better. I’m now starting down a path of psychotherapy and counselling and am enjoying the intersectionality of all my interests and the benefits they offer one another.
